Some More Live Poker

On Monday I went down to check out the pool here at Club De Soleil, a timeshare resort we are staying at this week. Unfortunately there were no hotties, only women with an average age of about 60. Hell ya some eye candy!!! Later I went in to the MGM to go play some poker, since Nfuego had went there a few hours earlier to play. A new table starts up that I jumped on, and I got off to a pretty slow start, losing about $50 raising and whiffing flops and cbets getting raised. Then I picked up KQ in MP1, I iso an EP limper to $10, get 2 callers and see a flop of T94. I cbet $20 and the limper calls. The turn is a beautiful J and I get a stubby when I get checkraised. I put him allin and he calls w/ JT and the river bricks off...ship it! I ended the session up $300 after taking down a bunch of big pots without showdown and just grinding it out. We quit and decided to use our comps to pay for the buffet at the MGM, which was simply amazing.

Yesterday I went down to the pool for several hours, spending my time chillin in the 85 degree pool, reading A Case For Faith, writing lyrics, and sleeping (pretty sure I was snoring too). Nfuego left in the afternoon and got the window fixed in his car that got smashed in at the Wynn parking lot the other day. I think he thought that when he got back we would head in to the strip to play poker, but when I saw that American Idol was on tv that threw a wrench into those plans. I stayed to watch the first 8 contestants and then we headed to the Flamingo to play poker. We got there and got seated at different tables, and for the first hour I got completely murdered. Cbets didn't work in HU pots, couldn't even flop a pair in multiway pots, and it was not fun. Finally after having to add on another $100 I got something going. I pick up KK UTG, I raise to $10 and get like 5 callers. The flop comes down 542 with two clubs, and I bet $40 and get two callers. The turn was an offsuit 7 and I just shoved my remaining $150 in, and both of them folded, only after the last guy tanked forever and finally folded showing his Qc9c, saying he wanted to call because he put me on J,J. Lol ok.

A little while later UTG raises, a decent LAG who's sitting on a $900 stack, he gets 2 callers, and I 3bet with KK to $35 on the button with a $440 stack. The LAG calls, one player folds, and a tight player goes into the tank. He finally decides to call, but it sure seemed like he was thinking about raising. I figured he had a hand like QQ or JJ or something. The flop came down JT7 with two spades and I decided to check back for pot control because that just smoked both of their ranges. I guess I could've bet/folded since it would be hard for UTG to make a move with a player in the middle...but I think checking back is perfectly fine. Anyway the turn was a disgusting 9 and UTG led out for $80. The tight player tanked forever and called again so I figured he had a set or something...and I folded. It went check/check on the river and UTG showed 97 of spades for two pair, and the tight player had QQ.

A little later the table broke and I got moved to Nfuego's table. Within like the first orbit I pick up KTdd UTG and decide to limp it because I know absolutely nothing about the table. I should've just folded it... There's a few limpers behind me and then the SB raises to $11 and I call along with a girl in MP. The flop comes down QJ4 with two diamonds, and the SB leads out for $25 or something. I call because we're 200 BB deep, and the girl raises to $100. SB tanks and folds and I'd already made up my mind to put her allin for another $200. She thinks for a minute then calls and shows QJ. About what I expected, but there wasn't much else I could do OOP. THAT'S WHY YOU DON'T LIMP/CALL DRAWY HANDS OOP!!! The turn was a 4 which was kinda cool because it made my K live too, but the river bricked off.

The very next hand UTG raises to $10, there are 2 callers and I call in the BB w/ T8 of diamonds. The flop comes down K97 with a diamond, UTG bets $20 everyone else folds and I put him allin for his remaining $60. He snap calls and flips over AA...haha oops...and the turn brings another diamond giving me yet another straight and flush draw...but again I brick off. Well fuck my life! I then went on the coldest stretch of cards ever, which was unfortunate because I was definitely going to be getting action on my hands. I mean I couldn't even play hands because I kept getting like J5o and stupid shit...and every time I would pick up something playable like KT or AT it would be when some tight player raised UTG or something. I finally told Nfuego I was ready to go whenever because I wanted to just stab my eyes out, and he says 1 more orbit. When he has 1 more hand to go, as the cards are getting dealt I said "Go allin blind this hand" since he only had a $60 stack. He kind of laughs about it and says like "Yeah right", I see him look at his cards and then he says "Allin blind" and shoves his stack in. I look down at AJ and I'm like "I would've called you had you not looked at your cards, and then I fold and everyone else folds. He turns over KK of course...lol. If only he wasn't a nit and had done what I told him then I would've paid him off. Haha, anyway we left with me down like $350 and him down $200.

Today we're going to Red Rock casino to play craps...this could be ugly...

Dude be careful not to donk away your whole roll at the craps table! I like the check back on the JT7 board. I don't think the player in the middle would deter the UTG player from making a move if he's as tight as you say...he'll need a set to call, and sets are tough to get. Only thing I'd say is to 3-bet a little heftier. Especially with the two callers in there already, I'd protect the hand a little more. Since you know you're not going to stack off on a really gross board, the smaller raise isn't terrible or anything, but I think if you make it more like $45 you get more value.
