Lol Live Poker

I have played so much live poker already so far that it's all a total blur, but I'll try to give ya'll a few examples of some of the hands I've played. I've finished up money almost every session, and have broke even a couple times, but I haven't lost money...at poker at least.

Let's start with a hand I remember really well...a hand where I win money off Nfuego. A guy raises from MP to like $12, I call from the SB w/ 77 and Nfuego calls from the BB. The flop comes 762 and I think I got a little stubby. The flop checked around unfortunately, and the turn brought another 2. I decided to check again because I figured someone would stab at the pot and Nfuego obliged and bet like 1/2 pot or something. Everyone else folded and I was debating on raising since it would look like I was so full of shit, and was also concerned that he would check behind hands on the river that I could get more value out of. I decided to just call and check/raise the river. The river brought a 6, making the board 76622. I checked and he bet like $25 and I took a while before raising to $100. I was sitting there thinking how sick it would be if he shoved his remaining stack in, which was only like $60 more. I was honestly prepared to fold if he shoved over me because I would put him squarely on quads. Now I probably would've still called in the heat of the moment, but I was telling myself that I would fold if need be. Luckily for me he didn't, and instead tanked forever and then called me with TT. I was very shocked, but he justified the call because we had just 3bet me a few hands earlier and thought I might be trying to outplay him, along with the fact that my line in the hand didn't add up. He thought I would lead the turn with a hand of my strength. I felt bad because he was having a bad day at the tables, but hey, what can you do?

So that table breaks and I switch tables that session, and I'm $500 deep with the fish at the table, who raises to $15 in EP. I look down at AhAc, I 3bet to $60, and he almost snap shoves on me. Obviously I snap call fully expecting him to have KK or something...but no of course he has the other AA. Sigh. The flop brought 2 hearts, so I'm like hell ya...give me the freeroll for a $1000 pot...turn was another heart...one time dealer...then the river bricked off....oh damn that sucks. I ended up running my stack up to about $650, but left with $350 after running two pair into a better two pair twice...but such is life.

During another session, I was sitting $300 deep, a nitish player raises from MP and I call on the button with 4c3c. The flop was 8s3s2c, he bets $20 and I raise it to $65 and he tanks for a while and calls. The turn is the Tc and he almost snap shoves. I'm sitting there thinking WTF? If he had an overpair or a set why would he stop and go? And why so fast? I tanked forever and decided my pair of threes were good and if not figured I had enough outs to make the call not that bad. The turn brought an offsuit Q and he tables QsJs...well horseshit, at least my read was correct I guess. I was tilted after that, for me making a speculative call, being correct, and then losing. Very next hand I pick up Ac8c, a guy in MP raises, I call and the BB calls. The flop comes down QcTc7h it checks to me and I bet $20. The BB folds and the initial raiser called. The turn was a blank and I checked behind hoping to get to showdown. The river was another blank and he bets $45. I tanked yet again, trying to figure out what he would do that with. I couldn't figure out what would check/call such a drawy flop like that, then value bet the river. I finally called since I beat all of the busted draws, and he said "nice call" to which I replied " I don't know about that" and tabled my hand since I wasn't sure if that weak of an ace high was good or not. He flipped over his KJo in disgust and you could just see the table's eyes light up thinking I was the fish at the table. Someone commented "I'm not going to try bluffing you" which I had to chuckle at. When the KJ guy got up to leave like an hour later he came over and asked me what made me call, if I had a live tell on him or something. I was laughing on the inside, but I told him his story didn't add up so I called.

I've played a lot more interesting hands on this trip, but I'm so tired right now I'll have to continue later. Peace!

vs. QsJs you're drawing dead the whole time...spades always find a way to win...

fwiw, I think I also find a fold if we're not both 7 Coronas deep. I hadn't picked up on your live tell yet of taking 5 minutes to measure out a raise when you have the virtual nuts.

The line did throw me though. You checked three streets with a hand that powerful... I just didn't believe it.
